Welcome to the world of IllStrip the total package. IllStrip is a group of individuals who are proficient in the art of making Hip Hop Music. In addition to the strong production and lyrical content IllStrip is also dedicated to it’s over all stage performance to give the fans the complete IllStrip experience. The members of the group are from the states of Delaware and New Jersey. Our goal is to make quality original Hip Hop Music that everyone can enjoy.
The Group consists of three MC’s Mar-Var, Uncle Stigz & Moo-Doo. Mar-Var & Moo-Doo, are brothers, and have been making music together since childhood. Their father introduced them to Uncle Stigz in 1998 and since the three have been making music together as a team. Although IllStrip is a group, each individual has the ability to perform solo. To showcase this point every mix tape released includes solo performances by each MC. In addition, over the years Mar-Var picked up the knack for creating smooth beats. Almost every IllStrip track you will hear was produced by Mar-Var. He currently has four IllStrip projects under his belt and another one on the way. Mar-Var was brought in by Chester, PA's Never Broke Records to help with production on their upcoming projects. Also in 2006, IllStrip picked up a new member, an outstanding singer still in rare form that goes by the name of Mr. Harmony. He will be assisting all IllStrip artists on their up coming projects and is currently working on his own solo project. In 2007 you will get to see more of Mr. Harmony and the younger generation of IllStrip; KoolAid, Duke, Young Felony, DeWan & Vex.
IllStrip is currently expanding beyond the PA/DE/NJ region in which so much love has been shown. After the response and the reviews, which have been generated throughout the streets to the Internet, it was destiny that this day would come. Having already released three mix tapes independently, in 1998 "IllStrip - I’m committed, in 2000 self-titled "IllStrip Mix Tape" followed by the 2003 "IllStrip Reloaded". Even though these are labeled as "mix tapes" the content is far from the normal "mix tape" you usually hear. These mix tapes are filled with original music recorded and performed by IllStrip. In 2005, IllStrip really made an impact with their Mix Tape titled “IllStrip - Either You I.S. or You Aint”. 24 tracks of Ill Music, 9 tracks produced by Mar-Var, and songs & freestyles over industry instrumentals. This mix tape gained IllStrip their first ever Online Interview at HipHopGame.Com and Unsigned Heat at HipHopHavoc.com. In addition, Undergroundties.com posted a full page feature for IllStrip on their website. The follow up to this mix tape was released March 2007. This time IllStrip pulled in the internationally know mix tape Dj Big Mike for hosting duties along with Delaware’s own Dj Mega Skills. The group is currently in the streets & online promoting this project. Pending more interviews, shows & reviews.
Since the release of the first Mix Tape in 1998, IllStrip has been on the grind. Through their affiliation with Never Broke Records, IllStrip was able to perform at the Sound of Tri-State Car Show three years in the row 2001, 2002 and 2003. In 2003 IllStrip was able to showcase their talent at Club Flow in Philly. IllStrip has performed many times in front of very diverse audiences as well. In 2005, they opened for comedians Queen Aisha, Funny Man Breakout, and Def Comedy Jams Freddie Hicks. Also in 2005, IllStrip enjoyed some media attention with their song "No Introduction" which was aired on 101.7 Kiss FM as the Hometown Jam. IllStrip was interviewed and performed on Delaware's number one TV Show "The Hot Spot" hosted by Jayrock. On April 30th 2005 IllStrip was selected as a “Hot Pick” to perform @ a Hip Hop Showcase hosted by Philly’s own Ms. Jade. Video clips of shows can been seen @ IllStrip.com.
